Mangaluru: Vehicle carrying machines electrocuted, transformer – Mescom suffers Rs 3 lac loss

Mangaluru, Apr 11: One transformer and eight electricity supply poles were damaged at Kuthar Mundoli as a heavy vehicle transporting huge industrial machines of pipe shape hit the overhead electric wire.

Mescom incurred a loss of Rs three lac due to the negligence of the heavy vehicle driver. The vehicle escaped from the spot.

Electricity supply was interrupted for more than 12 hours at areas surrounding Kuthar.

A case against the unknown vehicle that escaped after causing havoc, is registered in Ullal police station.
