Mangaluru: Stabbing of Konaje PSI – Accused arrested from Bengaluru

Mangaluru, Apr 16: Konaje police arrested the accused who stabbed Sharanappa, police sub inspector (PSI) of Konaje police station, who had gone to arrest him near Pajeer.

Mohammed Sadiq (23), resident of Salethur Kadumatha is the arrested accused. He was involved in the theft of precious watch that took place under the limits of Bunder police station. Sadiq stabbed Vinod, personnel of Bunder police station, who had gone to arrest him.

Konaje PSI Sharanappa and team went to arrest Sadiq, based on definite information that he is at his in-law’s house at Arkana on the night of March 23. However, Sadiq stabbed PSI Sharanappa and escaped from the spot. Police arrested Nasir, who helped his brother Sadiq to escape.

Acting on definite information Konaje police went to Bengaluru and arrested Mohammed Sadiq, who was found to sell, toys with one of his friend at HSR Layout.

Konaje inspector Prakash Devadiga, PSI Sharanappa Bhandary, personnel Ashok, Shiva, Purushotham and Umesh were in the operation to arrest Sadiq. ACP Dinakar Shetty guided the team.
