Bantwal, May 9: A 14-year-old boy killed himself as he got enraged at the advice given by parents not to watch TV. This incident took place at Jogibettu of Kasba village near Vittal.

Ujwal (14), son of Vamana Poojary, resident of Jogibettu is the boy who hung himself to the fan.

Ujwal was the eldest son of Vamana and Hemalatha couple. He has cleared his eighth grade and was spending his summer holidays at home. He was watching TV on the morning of Sunday, May 8. Vamana Poojary questioned his son as to why he is watching TV during morning time. Then Vamana switched off the TV and was working in the verandah of the house.

A little later, Hemalatha, mother of Ujwal saw that the bedroom was locked from inside. Both husband and wife broke open the door and went inside. To their utter shock they found their son Ujwal hanging to the fan after tying a saree to it. Though he was rushed to Vittal community centre, he could not be saved.

A case in this connection is registered in Vittal police station.
