Kasargod, May 13: A television actress-model of Kasargod was found dead on her birthday on Friday under mysterious circumstances in Kozhikode.

The deceased has been identified as Shahana (20) of Chiravuttoor. She was found hanging to her house window.

The police have taken her husband Sajjad into custody for interrogation.

Members of Shahana's family have alleged that the actress had been killed and that she was subjected to marital harassment from her husband for a while. Her mother also alleged that Sajjad had threatened to kill her and that they were constantly quarrelling with each other.

Shahana has acted in a few telefilms and had appeared in a few commercials. It is believed that she had recently got an offer to act in a Tamil film. The husband and wife had reportedly fought over some monetary issue and were married for the last one-and-a-half years.

The mortal remains of the young actress have been kept in the mortuary of the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Police have said her autopsy would reveal details of how she died.

Yes they know about divorce. Best solution instead of going all through tensions/irritations. As per my opinion, if a husband or a wife cannot get along with each other, if there are constant fight between the two, if theres no understanding/cooperation/suppression etc etc....both of them should not live together fearing society and fearing the prestige and respect of the family....to avoid murder or suicides like this....Some organizations/religious heads...should not force them to be together through counseling. They cannot live happily even after counseling. ..So Jossey sir, i second your comment and appreciate it....Invaluable comment...god bless dear

Cynthia, Damarskatte, some days back, I wrote that In Canada, boys and girls live together either purchasing house or on rent. I, as a Catholic is against this. Modern social scientists have advocated that considering present day problems, it is better to have trial of living together and if both have inclination for living together, they can get married. Their logic may be right. Sahana means queen or magnificent person, looks that she was.

Sir, even i opine the same like you do....!! But, if they keep on spending the precious years on trial basis when they will marry ? I feel every human being has short comings/they differ in nature/different way of life/how they brought up/atmosphere etc. In such live in relationships, partners just leave if they cannot get along with each other....That means, understanding/cooperation/adjustment/patience/sacrifices etc are not to be seen much like we do in our Indian culture especially in dk/udupi districts....One way, here married couple hide so many things and try to show thst theirs is happy marriage just to maintain the respect/image of their families in society but some die mentally/physically day by day..with a type of suffocation..which cannot be shared with others. As our dear Jossey sir, used to always write since years....."to abandon" if situation arises. But, we used to pull his legs instead of supporting.....I feel, it depends on individual's luck what partner they get. Its a very complicated topic.....
