Mumbai: Governor presents Mother Teresa Memorial Award to Dia Mirza, Afroz Shah

Mumbai (RBI), Jul 12: Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the Mother Teresa Memorial Award for 2021 to actor and UN Goodwill Ambassador for Environment Dia Mirza and 'UN Champion of the Earth' awardee Afroz Shah at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Tuesday, July 12.

The awards instituted by the Harmony Foundation were presented to Dia Mirza and Afroz Shah in recognition of their outstanding work for the protection of the environment.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Koshyari said, "Service to the environment is service to God." He said that the association of well known personalities such as Dia Mirza and Afroz Shah with the environment protection movement will encourage more people to work for the preservation of the environment.

Founder of Harmony Foundation Abraham Mathai and Susan Abraham were present. Sania Shetty conducted the proceedings.
