UAE Central Bank Announces Increase in Money Supply


Abu Dhabi, March 28 (IANS/WAM) UAE's central bank Sunday announced that money supply rose by 2.3 percent to 48 billion dirhams (about $13 billion) at the end of February from 46.9 billion dirhams at the end of January.

Bank deposits rose by 2.1 percent during February, reaching 1,079 billion dirhams. Bank loans and advances increased by 0.6 percent, reaching 1,049.2 billion dirhams, and bank assets rose by 1.8 percent, reaching 1.66 trillion dirhams at the end of February.
