Bantwal: Several Mescom projects in Bantwal becoming useful to people – MLA Rajesh Naik

Bantwal, Jul 26: “Electricity also is a symbol of progress. Several projects implemented by Mescom in Bantwal Assembly constituency are becoming useful for people,” said Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik.

He was speaking after inaugurating Ujwal Bharatha – Ujwala Bhavishya programme that introduces the achievements in the electricity sector, at the Mescom Bantwal office auditorium on the eve of platinum jubilee of India’s independence.

“Gas insulated stations have been built at a cost of Rs 12 crore during the last four years, electricity connections provided to 873 people under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya programme and also to several houses under Belaku project,” he said.

Deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V said that there should be dedication in the work. “Make sure that the students do not stay in the darkness. The work being done by you is important. Every house should receive electricity for Azadi Ka Amrath Mahotsav to be meaningful,” he said.

Mescom manager Prashanth Kumar Mishra, district zilla panchayat CEO Kumar, Mescom technical director Padmavathi D, Nodal officer Chittaranjan Kumar and Bantwal tahsildar Dr Smitha Ramu were present. Superintending engineer Krishnaraj welcomed.

Moodunadugodu resident Pascal D’Souza, Vittal Balthila, Manila grama resident Krishna, Anantadi resident Ganesh and Kanyana resident Harish expressed their opinions. B Ramachandra Rao compered the programme.
