Bengaluru: New portal for adoption of cows in goshalas founded

Bengaluru, Jul 28: BJP government has taken a step forward in preserving the cow resources of the state through Punyakoti Dattu Yojane. Through this cows can be looked after and goshalas can be maintained with the help of public.

Animal husbandry minister Prabhu Chauhan is going to flag off the Punyakoti scheme on July 28. Under this scheme private and public companies can adopt cows of goshalas. The main aim of the project is to encourage public to provide good facilities to the cattle in goshalas. There are more than 200 goshalas established in Karnataka by the government. The main aim of them is to look after the cows.

100 more goshalas are being established. These will accommodate indigenous, imported, mixed, weak and aged cattle that are left on streets by the farmers. In addition, cattle that are sent from police custody and court after confiscation will also be looked after in these goshalas.

A person has to pay Rs 11,000 in order to adopt a cow for one year. There is also provision to adopt cow for a period of three to five years. In Punyakoti Dattu portal cow from any goshala can be adopted by any person. IN addition, the cows can be taken care of and cash can also be donated to goshalas.

Under Goshala donation scheme public can pay anywhere from Rs 10 to no limit for the goshalas on Punyakoti Dattu portal. In addition, donation can be given to develop infrastructure and other expenses. One has to log on to https://punyakoti.karahvs.in.
