Mangaluru, Aug 17: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Permannur in association with Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R) Permannur, with great honour and pride celebrated India’s 75 glorious years of freedom and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Following the holy Mass, flag hoisting programme was organised in the church campus.

The programme began with a prayer song. Ashvia Anna Lasrado, president, ICYM Permannur welcomed the gathering. Fr Cyprian Pinto, parish priest presided over the programme. Chief guest Olivia D'Souza, branch manager, Federal Bank, Thokottu branch, hoisted the national flag.

'An ode to the preamble', recite to unite, recitation of the preamble of the constitution was led by the ICYM president. Vote of thanks was rendered by Arun D'Souza, secretary of Catholic Sabha. Fr Steevan Cutinho, assistant parish priest, Maurice Monteiro and Philomina D'Souza, vice president and secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, animator Deril D'Souza, ICYM president and secretary Ashvia Anna Lasrado and Dailesh D'Souza and Catholic Sabha president and secretary Naveen D'Souza and Arun D'Souza were present on the stage.

Refreshments were served after the programme. Around 500 parishioners were present for the programme. Navaneeth D'Souza compered the programme.
