Bantwal: 24th DK, Udupi convention of CPI to be held From Aug 27 to 29

Bantwal, Aug 26: CPI secretary for Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi districts V Kukian said that the 24th twin district convention of CPI will be held from August 27 to 29 at Bantwal.

Speaking at the press conference on Thursday, Kukian said, “National convention of the party will be held from August 14 to 18 at Vijayawada and state convention from September 25 to 27. The Bantwal convention is a prelude to those conventions.

“Party representative convention will be held as part of district convention on August 27 and 28 at Comrade A Shantaram Pai memorial building at Bantwal Bypass. Flag hoisting will be done at 10 am on August 27. Bike Jatha will be held in various streets of Bantwal at 4 pm on August 28.

“On August 29, public meeting will be held at Brahmarshee Narayana Guru Sabha bhavan at Ganadapadpu near B C Road Circle. On the same day a colourful Jatha will be taken from B C Road Kaikamba to Sabha Bhavan at 10 am.

“Comrade V Kukian, Udupi and DK district secretary, will preside over the public meeting. The programme will be inaugurated by Rajya Sabha member from Kerala Comrade Santhosh Kumar. Comrade Saathi Sundaresh, state secretary of CPI Karnataka and Comrade Dr Siddanagowda Patil, former member of national board, will be the chief guests,” he said.

B Shekhar, co secretary of DK, Udupi districts, V S Berinja, M Karunakar and member of executive committee Suresh Kumar were present.
