    People,

Truck really looks colourful and good,,, Wish MCC make this their new Logo ,,, before that Mayor and all Corporators( of both BJP and CONgress) should be put in this truck and should be made to take a round of Mangalore City,,, at the end of the tour,,, I am sure they will get more footwear in the truck than the Vegitables they seized from these foothpath Vendors......

Nithin Poojary, Mangalore/UK you comment according to the political party which you support. If the same type of action was done during MCC under congress rule you would have definately appreciated them, but since the BJP MCC is taking such type of action you are commenting against them.

I do fully agree with most of the readers who commented rightly about MCC step and same time shown due concern for the poor vendors, who solely depend on their meager earnings to run their family. Before taking any such steps, MCC should have taken any other alternative arrangements to accommodate these poor vendors, give some designated places to vend their items or should have warned/fined at least before before taking any such drastic steps.Vending and blocking the way for pedestrians of course it is really a nuisance but these poor vendors where will they go if they are not adequately taken care of.Will they will be supplied/provided their daily quota of ration to feed their family members.

At least show some courtesy/sympathy/mercy on them. After all they too are unprivileged human beings.Hope concerned authorities/departments will mend their mind and act accordingly in future.Do some justice to the poor people.Garib ko hataane ko math Dekho lekin Garibiko Hatane ko koshish karo.Jai Hind,Jai Bharat,Jai mangalore,Jai Karnataka

This is only dadagiri, trying to attack the poor vendors. Do this to the city buses wish park on the roads, who do the necessary cleaning and servicing. I think these buses are owned by some corporator. Why does the authority show a blind eye on these law breakers.

Better late than never! This was introduced in Bombay some 50 years back and they were effective only when the Raiding Lorry is in the vicinity and half an hour later the situation was back to SQUARE ONE. MCC should punish the culprit and provide their photos to the police department as offenders or provide these poor people with some alternate permanent occupation.

    People,

Action is correct,,, however if they are really poor, Corporation should accomodate them somewhere else,,, irrespective of their traditional voting patterns...Its cruel and inhuman to take these poor people's wares.......

If Corporation is really fair and balanced first thing they should do is confront powerfull builders whom encroached muncipal land and violated road margin rules....these poor fellows should be last to go.....

The MCC should come up with a idea create vending zones for street vendors by issusing them with identity cards, trade licenses or by relocation of these vendors in some areas for example fruit market in kadri, and clothes market in Vamanjoor area and giving them a opportunity to vend or name a street like a Vendor street like a Fashion street of Mumbai by helping these poor vendors to make their living even they have families to take care off.Show some consideration for these poor people.

In a crowded state bank area u want these sell vegetables and fish in the footpath, if that so where does general public walk???

Tomorrow if some accident happens then u blame the Yeddy and BJP govt stating that there is no law and order situtation in Mangalore..

The people who are working in middle east will follow all the rules in that unknown country, but once they come to India, they will start thier habits, like spitting on the road, throwing garbage.. Example this is BIBI ALBI road in Mangalore and Dinnur Main Road in Bangalore

I had a feeling MCC guys are intelligent?
What was the need to have a tiger skinned color truck?
Why is the need for these guys to wear Yellow colored uniforms?
Do they need to tell the hawkers from far away that they are arriving?
Maybe next time they should ask Perampalli's Sun Shine band to escort the truck.

Illegal mining is accepted, Illegal land encroachment is accepted, but poor people for their daily leaving cannot do petty business, Guys these people are not educated enough to get jobs, they have to do something different to feed their families or else crime will increase. Its very easy for we guys sitting in front of laptop and give comments, but people who known what does hunger means will real known the pain.

MCC's motto may be right but make sure alternative arrangement are made for poor veg venders. These foot path petty bussines men are vulernable for easy prey of officials of MCC.Therefore show some courtesy to them. These kind of operations by local bodies of the coutry always there but after some time foot path vendors will be reappear once again and go on further....So alternative arrangement may solve these type of problems.

Nobody will oppose the good work of the govenment, if it is in the interest of the general public. But this is not the right way of treatment(Gundagiri). Read the comments of "Nannu,Mangalore" to know some ways of treatment. I think these people are in a hurry to showoff something, but have completly forgotten the way of legal treatment.

That crisis stated in Tunisia, their local authorities started to hunting evacuation of small and petty sellers from footpath, in one of footpath seller commit suicide from harassment of local authorities, for him and his family there was no other way to live-hood. Here from crises spread allover gulf region.

Request Authorities to serve notices to the people first to evacuate within a hr. of time. If Repeated faces seen then spot penalty may be charged & ask them to evacuate immediately. In this high inflation one should not waste the vegitables/materials like this. Please do not show dadagiri on costly vagitables grown by the farmers with the great difficulty.
