Mangaluru: Festive Onam celebrated at Srinivas Hospital Mukka

Mangaluru, Sep 17: Onam, the biggest festival in Kerala marks the homecoming of the legendary King Mahabali, who once gave the people a golden era in Kerala. Onam was celebrated at SUCET, Mukka on September 16.

The high spirits of the students was reflected in the way they arranged an intricately designed flower carpet and welcomed Maveli. They presented a special programme highlighting the culture and tradition of Kerala in the form of dances and songs which passed on the message of national integration and cultural diversity to the audience.

The principal and other staff members too witnessed the programme.

The principal, Dr Thomas Pinto, in his message spoke about how festivals should bind communities irrespective of religion, caste and creed. The college presented a festive look with the students in their traditional attire - Kerala saree and white mundu. All the students were distributed delicious payasam after which a series of games were conducted by them.
