Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School celebrates Kannada Rajothsava

Mangaluru, Nov 2: The Karnataka state every year on November 1 commemorates the Kannada Rajothsava. The birth of this day happened in the year 1956. Since then, the people of Karnataka have always made this day special. The entire state celebrates this great day with devotion and valuing the rich culture of Karnataka. This year one important initiative by government is ‘Koti Kanta Gayana’ students of all institutions around the state have presented this great cause by singing the kannada songs.

St Agnes CBSE School commemorated this day enthusiastically with presenting a spectacular performance of depicting rich culture, true beauty of Kannada Nadu and singing the melodies tunes composed by renounced artistes.

 

The chief guest was Umesh Karanth a vibrant personality, a retired professor with multiple talents of actor, dramatist, script writer who also has contributed greater part of his talents in giving the best in literature to the state. He was accompanied by the principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC and vice principal Sr Lenita Pinto AC.  

The programme began with the dignitaries lighting the lamp followed by devotional prayer service presented by students of grade IX. A warm welcome through a dance was presented by students of grade VII and IX also giving a formal welcome to all gathered for the event. The melodious kannada songs were sung by students of grade III and VIII. A virtual significance of the day was depicted meaningfully. The students of grade IX and VII also performed a spectacular dance depicting the rich culture of Kannada Nadu. The entire programme was coordinated by teachers Shubha and Ranjitha.

The chief guest during his formal address explained the beauty of the Karnataka. He congratulated every student who performed remarkably well and the teachers who trained them. He stressed that our rich state has its own true beauty with humble people born and achieved name and fame. He said one important recognition of Kannadiga is the language kannada spread all over the world. He encouraged students to speak the language and learn it in a better way to communicate.

The principal too congratulated the students for their spectacular performance. She too stressed the need to give importance to the language and respect the culture and tradition.

The programme was compered by Aditi Prabhu and Vaishnavi Rao. Chinmayee welcomed the gathering and Nidhi Nirvani proposed the vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all for being spectacular audience. The programme was concluded with singing the Nada Geethe.
