Mangaluru: No beef stall at central market, says MLA Vedavyas Kamath

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Nov 7: Responding to the matter of allowing beef stalls to operate in central market building, MLA Vedavyas Kamath on Monday November 7 said, “Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders have objected allocating beef stalls in central market that will be newly built. This market is the oldest market in my constituency.

“I am an MLA but from the age of four I am volunteer of the RSS. I have spoken to officials about the beef stalls in central market. If the beef stalls are not dropped from the new central market, I will not perform the foundation stone laying ceremony in the coming days.

“The plan of this building was made during the rule of the earlier government. But the BJP government has brought in anti-cow slaughter law recently. The work of the market should have begun long ago. But Congress brought a stay order from the court. The Congress has created obstacles for various projects in the city.

“This plan was implemented long ago. But no attention was given to change the plan after the introduction of anti-cow slaughter law. Now we will look into it. We will see that beef stalls are not allowed in central market.

“All MLAs are alert about illegal cow slaughter centres. The government will identify illegal cow slaughtering spots and the property will be confiscated. Already many properties are confiscated through law. Through this law and anti-cow slaughter law, awareness will be created among public,” he said.

Members of the VHP met the MLA and submitted a memorandum to him urging to withdraw permission to set up beef stalls at central market.

For some Beef is an delicacy but to also note ---we have vast population who can only afford beef and this is fulfilling their protein requirements ----- Also as per studies in India about 70 % consume non veg ----- officially -- So will of a minority who may also be consuming on the sly is imposed --possibly can add 10 % on the sly or enter from backdoor of non veg hotels --

How can an elected and educated person speak like this ? " "If the beef stalls are not dropped from the new central market, I will not perform the foundation stone laying ceremony in the coming days" Time to find someone else and let him sit at home and watch it. Firstly he wants publicity to put foundation stone and for his name to be put in the papers. I suggest we support the beef stall owners and help them in bidding so as to ensure that its opened. We talk about being the largest democracy in the world and such lunatics who fight for what to eat and what not to eat, churches , mosques temples, hijab, speaker, statues being inaugurated etc. They get votes too on the basis of this ? Sad to see this. Even if you watch Indian news you get this shitty content. For development, or actual news of our county. we have to watch news channels of other countries. Whatever, lets say Jai Modi Jai Beef . My money, my stomach, my choice. These people are making Managlore and India like the old Saudi Arabia, even those guys are moving forward with positive reforms whereas we are moving backwards. Well done Bhakts

Whether there is ban of beef or not, the beef meat ( not cow) will be always available. No body can stop it 100%. Those who are protesting against the sale of beef, majority of them are non vegetarian. For money, they will close their eyes.

Build most modern govt. schools with up to date technology. Offer free education to all children and make them future technocrats / scientists for our country. Do not interfere in private life of individuals, let them decide where to stay, what to wear, what they want to eat. Strive to keep peace in the area. Provide good roads, water and housing for all. In this way the country will prosper.

Is it one man decision by the MLA or Sangh Parivar decision slapped on him? He should understand that we are a secular, democracy and not a dictatorship. Also the building construction can go ahead even without him laying the foundation stone. MLAs have been elected by the people for more important and critical jobs and not for simply laying foundation stones and cutting ribbons.

For us pig is not considered god but haram. We don't mind if someone else kills and eats them. For Hindus cow is considered god and it will hurt their religious sentiments. It is equivalent to demolishing our holy book and insulting prophet. This comparison is always brought about but it is fundamentally wrong and they can't be compared.

And when there is illegal activities there is commision for police and this BD and cheddi gang. And part will go to this type ministers. And. Few are commenting to go to beef eating country or state. Why should I go to any where else . Since I. Pay tax for this my land and state. I have full rights to leave as per my democratic country rules. Don't worry soon no cows and no milk. Because no one interested to keep pet cows. Soon your grand children's will drink chemical milk.

Central market is not your forefather's entity nor built in your private property. You are an elected MLA and do not try to cross your legally permitted boundary line. Your duty is to work for public and in way responsible to dictate your personal views and conditions on people.

“I am an MLA but from the age of four I am volunteer of the RSS". So then why not quit politics and join RSS again? Didn't RSS get unbanned by Patel after they promised not to enter Indian politics following the assassination of Gandhiji? Didn't this MLA swear on Indian constitution before taking his seat? By picking RSS law over his Constitutional duty he should step down from his seat.

Don't worry too much about what you eat or fart. Those who relish beef can go on beef tourism to other BJP ruled state like Goa or neighbouring state Kerala or those who can afford can do overseas travel to Dubai to enjoy beef delicacies. They can come back and release prasad back in Karnataka after eating beef. There is huge potential for beef tourism now. Enjoy flavour of the season as you wish.

Nowadays there is so much competition among bjp mla's to be more right wing than the rest, that i think even MLA kamath does not want to stay behind. It is now left for the people of mangalore to decide if they want to make sure he remains an MLA for the inauguration of the central market. But i dont hav too much hope in the people of mlore , as they are too much educated.
