Dubai: KEL member event ‘Talk on UAE corporate tax, its impact on businesses’ on Nov 19

Dubai, Nov 14: Kanara Entrepreneurs, Dubai is hosting a member event on Saturday, the November 19 starting at 7.30 pm (UAE) at Utsav Hall, Indian Social Club, Oud Metha Road - Dubai. The highlight of the event will be a talk on the UAE corporate tax and its impact on businesses - by a subject matter expert Pankaj S Jain.

UAE has proposed a corporate tax of 9% for financial years starting on or after June 1, 2023. The final rules and regulations are expected to be released very soon. The public consultation document on the matter released by the ministry of finance, provides insights into the proposed tax regime. Some of the provisions could have far reaching implications on most business operations in the UAE.


Pankaj S Jain (CTA (UK), LLB, ACA, MCom - AskPankaj Tax Advisors, UAE)

Pankaj S Jain is a qualified chartered accountant with ICAI and a chartered tax advisor (CTA) in the United Kingdom with over two decades of extensive experience in India, Europe and UAE.

He specializes in the entire gamut of taxation - i.e. VAT/GST, indirect taxation, transfer pricing, international taxation, tax controversy management & resolution. As a trusted tax advisor, Pankaj has advised and assisted leading MNCs and Indian companies on Indian goods & services tax (GST), VAT, service tax and customs, European GST, UAE VAT, business model structuring, and VAT implementation.

Pankaj also possesses rich experience in tax litigation and have successfully represented clients' interests before various judicial fora across India. Pankaj has been a regular speaker in seminars organized by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and other tax forums. His views are regularly published in leading journal and Khaleej Times and Gulf News.

Pankaj leads the team of AskPankaj Tax Advisors, a company based in Dubai, UAE. The company is advising UAE companies on VAT implementation, business structuring and compliance matters. Previously, Pankaj has worked as national head taxation at Coca-Cola India and tax head for Kohler India. He has worked extensively on advisory roles on the UK/European VAT and with KPMG Belfast, Northern Ireland. Pankaj has also worked with large corporations such as Deloitte, PwC and Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan to name few.
