Beltangady: Absconding robbery accused arrested after five years

Beltangady, Feb 14:
The Dharmasthala police have arrested an accused who had been absconding for five years in connection with a robbery case reported in Rekhya village.

The arrested individual has been identified as Nanjunda Magadi (39).

The case dates back to 2017, when a robbery occurred in Rekhya.

 

A complaint was registered at the Dharmasthala police station under Crime No. 65/2017, involving sections 397, 395, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to police sources, the accused had failed to appear before the court for the past five years and had been evading arrest.

Following precise intelligence, the police team tracked him down to Giddenahalli in Bengaluru. He was apprehended and produced before the court on Friday, February 13.

The court has remanded the accused to judicial custody.
