Bantwal, Nov 16: Inflow of water in Netravati river increased suddenly on Tuesday causing a truck involved in new bridge construction stuck on the river bed. The truck was moved to one side using a JCB machine.

Most of the pillars of the bridge were constructed before the onset of monsoon. Later, the work was stopped due to rains. Now the work has begun and a temporary road is constructed for the movement of trucks.

On Tuesday, a truck transporting mud to be put into the water in the river was returning, when the water level rose suddenly and the mud on one side of the temporary road got washed away leaving the truck stuck.

It is said that the uncertain level of water in dams caused a situation of this nature.
