Bengaluru, Dec 1: Mobility and transportation are critical to economic growth of a country and future will evolve very differently due to the advancement in technology. Advancements in transportation technologies such as electrification, application of digital technologies, autonomy based on deployment of image recognition, machine learning and AI, creation of new business models are among key ingredients that will drive disruption and transformation in this sector in the next decade. Alliance Tech Conclave 22 on The Future on Mobility was organized by Alliance College of Engineering and Design on November 26 at the Alliance University Campus.
This conclave aimed to bring together diverse and multidisciplinary experts onto a neutral platform for the exchange of thoughts and ideas that facilitate a variety of knowledge sharing, future research directions and networking The conclave was attended by senior members of the industry to discuss the forthcoming solutions required to address the challenges in the area of electric vehicles. The chief guest was Dr Ajay Prabhu, president of Technology Services, Quest Global, and the guest of honor was Kamal Bali, president & managing director, Volvo Group India. Dr Ajay addressed the evolving customer expectations, safety challenges, and environmental hazards we need to address in the context of Electric vehicles. Kamal Bali in his keynote address, put forth the concept of Build to Adapt and the need for accelerated innovation. He touched upon the electric vehicle progression path in the Indian market and the
sustainability challenges in the context of electric vehicles.
Alliance University pro-chancellor Abhay Chebbi and vice-chancellor Dr Anubha Singh also addressed the participants drawing their attention to the importance of industry-academia interactions in this new era of transcending technologies.
Subsequently, two panel discussions were held with sub-topics of Intelligent and Connected Systems and Electromobility. The first panel highlighted the progression path for data generation and harnessing the power of gathered data while the second panel highlighted the progression or maturity path for this industry and the standardization progress.
Members of the first Panel were Akhila Prabhakaran, Dell Technologies, Ashok Bhat, IBM, Tarang Garg, Bosch Global Software, Balaji Natarajan, Continental. Members of the second panel were Sanjeev P, TVS Motor, Sheril Varghese, Vitesco Technologies, Muralidhar Gumma, Altair Corporation, Gnana Kumar Swamy, Advanced Rotating Machinery and Intelligent Systems R&D Pvt Ltd.
Alliance College of Engineering and Design encourages experiential learning through research oriented project works especially by BTech students. In the post lunch session on Tech Conclave, there was an exhibition of Students’ Innovative projects which were evaluated by Industry panel. Industry delegates appreciated the innovations, enlightened the students on the potential viability of commercializing their products and motivated them to venture into start-ups. The conclave concluded with felicitation and prize distribution to winners of Working model and Poster presentations. All the delegates expressed their happiness and contentment to be part of the Alliance Tech Conclave 2022.
