Mangaluru: ICYM Miyapadavu holds Christmas trophy inter-ward cricket tournament

Mangaluru, Dec 12: ICYM Miyapadavu held Christmas trophy 2022 inter-ward cricket tournament for men and women on Sunday, December 4.

The inaugural programme of tournament began by prayer led by Fr Edwin Vincent Correa, ICYM director. Joachim Monteiro, PPC vice president , Philomena DSouza, PPC secretary, Pradeep Dsouza convenor Of commisions, Sisters of Holy Cross convent, Sylvia Santhanez animator of ICYM Miyapadavu, Jenisha Dsouza, ICYM president, Rohan Monteiro sports rep, umpires Jafar and Badrudeen were guests on the dias.

ICYM president Jenisha Dsouza welcomed the gathering. Fr Edwin Vincent Correa addressed the gathering. Fr Edwin and Sr Inna mary inaugrated the tournament by batting and bowling on the games field.

All the 10 wards actively participated in the cricket tournament. Breakfast, lunch, tea was arranged to all the players and audience. Infant Jesus ward bagged the winner’s trophy and St Antony ward bagged the runners trophy. Man of the match was awarded after each match. Parish priest congratulated the winners and runners by handing over the trophy.

The YCS members also played a big role in making this event successful by volunteering. It was a great day to ICYM Miyapadavu to bring all the parishoners together. The highlight of the programme was unity and support of the ward members. The day ended successfuly with sports spirit and an enthusiastic audience.

Programme was compered by Pradeep, vote of thanks was rendered by Melwin D'Souza, treasurer ICYM Miyapadavu.
