Udupi, Dec 22: USWAS-Shirva (an association of Shirva parishioners residing in UAE) is all set for the grand finale of its 20th anniversary, with a final event in native Shirva that will see a host of renowned performing artistes and personalities from across India and abroad gracing the occasion. USWAS-Shirva has consistently rendered a constant service in various fields for the past 20 years. Members abide and drive their spirit with the motto of, ‘Lend a hand not for self, but for each other’. Driven by its motto, USWAS extend unconditional service to promote the well-being of Shirvites living in the UAE, Shirva parish and society and to uplift Konkani language and culture. Main objective of USWAS was to bring all the Shirva Parishioners of UAE together under one roof.
Being very well -known and most loved group among the Mangaluru community, USWAS- Shirva is happy to celebrate its 20th anniversary in their native ground. The celebration will be held at the Don Bosco School Grounds of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva at 5.30 pm on Sunday, December 26. USWAS has planned a unique fun-filled variety event and the committee members are all in full spirits since the programme will be held in their native place. Fr Leslie, parish priest-Shirva, and Joseph Mathias – Merit Freight will be the chief guests.
The much-awaited mega event will hold a power-packed house of entertainment with variety of singing, dance, drama and comedy performances from the young talented and renowned performers.
Reality Show - Mozo Thalo Gaithalo title winner’ Velita Lobo, young singing sensation will join with her melodious vocals to enthrall the audience. Velita, a young rising talent with training in Hindustani classical vocals from Roshan Martis, is currently a full-time research scholar at Srinivas University, Mangaluru. With her distinct melodious voice, she stood as the Winner of ‘Muzo Thalo Ghaithalo’ Konkani reality show.
She has recorded more than 50 new songs, also recorded song for the famous Konkani movie ‘Benddkar’.
She has been a judge of various singing competitions and shows, currently judging Konkani kids singing competition ‘Jigibigi Tharam’. She performed and won hearts in Dubai recently in USWAS organized musical concert Nihal Tauro Live in Concert.
They will also have Prasanth Siqueira, a young vibrant artiste, a popular singer, composer and musician to keep all entertained with his electrifying performance. Hailing from Shirva and a member of USWAS Shirva group hailing currently in UAE. He is very well known for his Konkani music album ‘Yo Moga’. All the songs composed are suitable for all generation. He is a popular singer, musician at UAE and has sang for various shows like Gulf Voice of Mangalore, Nihal Tauro live in Concert.
To add-up to the mood, stand-up comedy never disappoints when it comes to an entertaining evening. The organizers are very excited to introduce Arpith Indravadan popularly known as Mad In Kudla with his exceptional comic timings and rib-tickling humor. Gear up for big laughs with spontaneous banter. Arpith was a popular RJ for Mirchi 98.3 Mangaluru and Mirchi 95 Bengaluru.
Currently, an online content creator and Youtuber with more than 1 lac subscribers on ‘Mad In Kudla’ channel.
He is very well known as a professional voiceover artist and professional mime artist. He has acted in many Tulu and Kannada Movies like Rang and 2 Ekre. Garudagamana Vrishabha Vahana. His upcoming Kannada movies include Non-Veg and Happy birthday to me.
The highlight of the evening is going to be the spectacular Tulu drama ‘Budedi’ played by Kaup Rangatharanga Kalavidaru Team under the leadership of Samajha Ratna Sri Leeladhar Shetty. Shirva’s pride, Rangada Manikya Mervin Shirva will be playing key role in this drama. Story is written by Sandeep Shetty Manibettu, dialogues are wriiten by Prasanna Shetty Bailoor, directed by Viddhu Ucchila, and music given by Sharath Ucchila.
Well known band, ‘Marvel and Team’ under the leadership of well-known Maestro Marvel along with Roshan, Sanjay and Sanjeeth to provide live musical entertainment. He has been the core musician for musical shows and has assured the best of his troupe’s performance for the event, who are well known for complimenting the singers to perfection. The team consists of musicians who play highly electrifying rendition of Bollywood, Kannada and Konkani hits in their instrumental form.
Organizers not only promise an entertaining performance but also one could be part of a lucky draw and win exciting prizes like TV, mobile, tablet and many more attractive prizes.
USWAS will be conferring the posthumous award to the late Simon D’Souza, a software entrepreneur who was an active member of Shirva parish, former student of St Mary’s School who played a vital role in building up St Mary’s Old students Association. He is a philanthropist who has donated his time, money, skills and knowledge to uplift the needy in Shirva parish and Konkani community. He has always rendered his volunteer support for all the projects that has led to the development of the community. He was into social work and was serving as a member of the administrative community of Pambur Manasa Rehabilitation Center. He was also the member of Arogya Raksha Committee at community health center in Shirva. USWAS will pay honours to his great contribution to the society.
As part of the 20th Year, USWAS has lend its hand to build home for the needy, we are humbled to announce that the project has been successfully completed and we will be handing over a newly built home on December 26.
The 20th year saw USWAS host several events to mark the celebrations. Nihal Tauro Live In Concert in UAE, free medical checkup & screening treatment information at Shirva, Uswas Cricket Trophy both in UAE and Shirva, and Christmas celebrations at Jeevan Asha old age home in Shirva. Other welfare projects such, educational support for the needy students, support for health related funds were undertaken during the year by USWAS.
