No sir you are incorrect, GDP can be applied to a district, state or even a city, it's just the gross domestic product calculation done within a geographical boundary which can be anything

This achievement was due to good education (in good olden days contributed by Christrian community's), High number/amount of Non-Residents remittances (Thanks to booming Petro Dollar Gulf Countries), The good education empowered specially the upper cast stalwarts of the city in good olden days engage themselves in Medicine, Engineering, Legal & Finance profession and the entrepreneurial quotient made them incubate 5 Major banks within this region (viz - Karnataka, Canara, Vijaya, Corporation & Syndicate Bank); Last but not the least the highly educated Legacy political leadership's Vision, result in connecting the city by Rail/Road/Airport/Sea port etc., to give further impetus to the Economic prosperity of the the people & the place, In addition the secular minded/thinking harmonious living conditions without any discrimination on the basis of cast/color or creed (though off recently the secular fabric is getting highly impaired).., Attributing this feet to the Govt of the day is some thing laughable (though can't expect something better from jokara clan)

Political campaigns often involve making speeches and engaging in dialogue with voters in order to gain support and win elections. However, it is important for politicians to focus on developing policies and ideas that will benefit their communities, rather than making unnecessary or divisive statements that may divide people and create tension. By prioritizing the needs of their constituents and working towards constructive solutions, politicians can contribute to the betterment of their communities and bring people together, rather than dividing them for the sake of gaining votes.

You have no role to play in this feat. It's purely because of the enterpreniual spirit of Mangaloreans plus the NRI money flow. You as DK MP has not bought not even a single project to Mangalore. You couldn't get the Bangalore-Mangalore highway cleared. Look at Mysore MP how progressive and visionary he is.

Mangalore stands second in economy in Karnataka, because: It has the largest port in Karnataka. Only city apart from Bangalore to have an international airport. It is having the hub of petrochemical and fertiliser industry. Upcoming hub of IT companies. It is known as the cradle of banking. It has the best hospitals after Bangalore. It also has the highest NRI remittances after Kerala, hence spending capacity is more. Well educated people, since excellent educational institutions. Regional Engineering college (NIT) of Karnataka and many medical and engineering colleges.

Thank you sir for your hard work, rock solid vision and efforts to ensure this wonderful feat. Happy to say that, we have the most intelligent MP in this country as our MP. Your mastery over economics and foresight is the main reason for this. During the last 3 terms, the way you have spearheaded the growth, exponentially is definitely a research case study even for the best of the B Schools from the Ivy league. Thanks to you once again and we wish you become the next MP in the upcoming elections. With Love, Mangaloreans.

That's good news .. Despite repeated negligence from successive state govts of different parties ..Mangalore has stood out on its own .. Hats off to the local entrepreneurs. Who through their hardwork have done this independently. Some striking eg of success stories ..1) The start of Local public transport services by private owners. 2) setting up of Udipi hotels(Concept of Thali) all across the globe especially in Mumbai, Bangalore.4) Setting up of Banks ..Corporation bank, Vijaya bank,Canara bank etc etc. 3) Immigration to Gulf nations after oil was discovered. 4) Setting up of Educational and Health Infrastructure. According to me, if the State Govt would have given even a small push , Mangalore would have been No1 even beating Bangalore .
