Udupi, Dec 24: A woman and a youth were killed in a road accident on Saturday following a head-on collision between a car and a tempo on the Katapady-Shirva main road near Panjimaru Palime.
The youth who was seriously injured in the accident died on the way to the hospital.
Shirva Police personnel conducted a spot inspection of the accident site and are investigating.
The accident occurred between a car that was Udupi-bound from Moodbidri and a Shirva-bound tempo.
Doctors of the Udupi government hospital pronounced the death of the youth who was rushed to the hospital from the accident spot.
It is learnt that the car was from Bengaluru while the identity of the woman who died is yet to be known. The youth who died is identified as Pawan B S from Bengaluru according to the driving licence that was found on him.
