Kadaba, Dec 27: In a tragic accident that occurred in front of the eyes of a woman, her husband was killed as the scooter which he was riding was hit by an SUV on Monday December 26 evening at Kalara near here.
The deceased is identified as Ummer (50), a resident of Kalara. Ummer was on the Uppinangady-Kadaba-Subramanya state highway and was taking a turn towards his house when the SUV collided with his scooter. As he was thrown and received severe head injuries, he died on the spot.
The unfortunate incident occurred in front of the eyes of Ummer’s wife. She was waiting for her husband standing on the verandah of her house. As she was watching the SUV hit the scooter and her husband fell on the road motionless. Though her son rushed Ummer to hospital, he had already breathed his last. Ummer was running a timber business.
