Bantwal: Car without registration, insurance confiscated by police

Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (MS)

Bantwal, Jan 13: It is learnt that police have confiscated a white colour Renault Kwid car that was moving around Dakshina Kannada district since two years without registration and insurance.

It is said that Sathish Gowda, a resident of Padaru Madaka of Vittal Padnoor village had bought Kwid car two years ago. However, he neither got it registered nor insured for the vehicle. Acting on a definite tip-off, Vittal police stopped the car for checking on Friday January 13 and came to know the fact. Police are investigating further.

Public are of the opinion that in today’s environment, if a vehicle meets with an accident, the injured should wait for years to get compensation with all the documents in up to date condition. If a car without registration and insurance meets with accidents, then the victims will not get any sort of compensation.

How can a car remain for two years without number plate and with insurance? Any showroom delivers any vehicle only after registering with an RTO concerned.

In such cases put the vehicle inside and let him pay first compansation and take the vehilcle. Now make him pay the insurances of last two years and taxes.otherwise put the vehicle to market.

Please penalise the dealer who supplied the car. He is supposed to be registering the vehicle before delivering it to dealer. And RTO will not register vehicle without insurance.

There is a circular from Ministry of Transport that vehicle dealers have to deliver a vehicle to the client with a number plate. One cannot move about without a number plate or with "Registered" written on the board -it is illegal.
