Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jan 13: In a shocking theft incident that took place here, thieves have stolen a 50 feet tall mobile tower weighing 50 tonnes.

The mobile tower was installed at Gaushala road of Garudacharpalya of Mahadevapura. In addition, the thieves have also stole the diesel generator and battery bank of the tower. The private company which has installed the tower has also filed a complaint with the police.

According to the complaint, the mobile tower and its spare parts were stolen between August 1 and September 1 of 2022. The total value of the stolen equipment is said to be Rs 17 lac.

The private company had installed the tower in 2009. Till August 2022, a particular technician used to look after its maintenance. After he resigned, a new technician was appointed in September 2022. When the new technician took over and visited the spot, the tower ceased to exist at the location.

Locals say that they had seen some people removing the tower.

Police are on the hunt to find the thieves.

Bizzare news coming everyday; this is radiculous and could not have been done without the tacit support of the local authorities! BTW, three policemen were accused of removing and selling kidneys of a mentally deranged person and selling it to some rogue hospital for 10L and destroying evidence by surreptitiously cremating the body; this is spinechilling!! Total failure of the administration!!

Sameer, Yes, if it were in India, it was a possibility. At Eiffel tower in Paris, there is a two stage security check. One at the entrance and another at the entrance of stairs or lifts. The entrance ticket is depending upon whether one goes to first stage, 2nd stage by stairs or lift. For 3 stage, one can only go by lift from 2nd stage. Adult ticket fare for 3rd stage is 28.3 Euros (about Rs 2500). From 3rd stage one can see a panoramic view of Paris. About 7 millions people per year, from around the world visit this tower. I had gone to the 3rd stage of the tower. There are many duplicate Eiffel towers in India.
