Puttur: Thieves loot cash, gold, valuables worth Rs 5.87 lacs from house

Puttur, Jan 15: Thieves entered the house of Jijin Abraham alias GGKA, a resident of Kalayil of Golithottu village near Uppinangady and decamped with gold, cash and valuables amounting to Rs 5.87 lacs.

Jijin had been to Dharmasthala Prakriti Chikitsalaya hospital on Friday, after leaving his wife and children at his house at Arla of Konalu village, in order to take care of his hospitalised father-in-law. When he returned home on Saturday, the theft came to light.

Thieves had stolen a box containing golden ornaments worth Rs 4.65 lacs, property documents, TV, gas cylinder, gas stove. The total value of stolen valuables is Rs 5.87 lacs.

Fingerprint experts and canine squad have visited the house and collected clues.

Uppinangady police are investigating further.
