Udupi, Jan 18: Udupi Congress leader, former Karnataka Legislative Council chairman and  MLC K Prathap Chandra Shetty has resigned from his KPCC membership on Wednesday, January 18.

This development has occured after some internal political developments that followed the appointment of KPCC members from each block. There are also whispers within the Udupi district Congress stating that nothing is working fine at the crucial election time.

However, Dhruv Narayan, the Mysuru division in-charge of Congress, has clarified that  Prathap Chandra Shetty has not resigned from the party's primary membership.

Speaking about this crucial development, Dhruv Narayan said, "Yesterday, I met with Prathap along with our Keral legislator Rosy M John and spoke to him. He is very much active  in the party. There is no such dissent. Under his guidance, Congress is growing in the district. He will also be participating actively in the bus yatra to be held from January 22."
