Beltangady, Jan 18: Two workers were injured due to the collapse of the floor of Vartha Bhavan housed in the town panchayat at the commercial complex here on Wednesday, January 18 morning.
The local people have alleged that the town panchayat was orally informed about the impending collapse of the part of the Vartha Bhavan near the KSRTC bus stand a week ago but the town panchayat had ignored their warnings.
The iron sheet installed on the building fell this morning due to constant pressure when repairs by the town panchayat were in progress. The two injured workers have been admitted to the Belthangady Government Hospital.
