Kalaburagi, Jan 19 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Karnataka on Thursday to inaugurate and lay foundation stone for projects worth Rs 10,800 crore in Yadgir and Kalaburagi districts of the state.

On his arrival at Kalaburagi airport, he was accorded a warm welcome by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and BJP state President Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Prime Minister Modi later travelled to Kodekal village in Yadgir district along with them by special chopper.

This happens to be Prime Minister Modi's second visit to the state in January.

With his visit, the ruling BJP is hoping to make an impact in 41 Assembly constituencies of Kalyan Karnataka region which is also called Hyderabad-Karnataka.

Why should the Governor get involved in welcoming. He doesn't realise that as a Governor, he roports to President of India and is not a BJP person.

He is here with elections in mind... Right from the beginning bajapa has played deceptive politics with its own followers and voters let alone congi and other party supporters... Economic fallout of any government takes about 8 to 10 years from inception... In the first 5 years they enjoyed the good seeds sown by congi ministries... This time around they thrived on sale of government assets... Boomeranging effects of mismanagement of each ministry will open one by one not to forget unbelievable scams... karnataka people are more intelligent than Gujjus... They will not climb Morbi bridge so easily...
