Kundapur: Drunk driving - Cement container topples on national highway, car damaged

Kundapur, Jan 23: A container truck laden with cement overturned and fell across national highway (NH) at Sangam junction in the city on Sunday January 22 night. A car got damaged and traffic got disrupted for more than three hours.

The container truck was carrying more than 50 tonnes of cement from Koppal to Mangaluru. The driver of the container was driving the vehicle in inebriated condition. As the truck reached Sangam junction, he lost control of the vehicle, the truck hit the road divider, broke CCTV camera pole and fell on the other side of the national highway. While falling the truck hit the car that was coming on the other side of the road and damaged it badly.

It is said that one more person was sleeping inside the container truck. Later, the truck was lifted with the help of three cranes and cooperation of locals. Kundapur traffic police controlled the traffic and public at the spot of the accident.

    Jossey S.Mumbai.do you think anyone will admit that he is drunk and fit not to drive?Anyway not in our India .Mostly drunk men dont admit it .Because they dont feel it and also feel more fit .They dont realize it .Due to drunk driving costs more lives and damage than anything in world.Murder wife and children ,or fight on street.Its a luck that noone died in this incident.
