Calling it Black Day, Modi blames PM

Ahmedabad, June 5 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Sunday held Prime Minister Manmohan Singh responsible for the crackdown on yoga guru Baba Ramdev and his supporters and called it a "black day in history".

"Manmohan Singhji, the nation is not ready to believe that you are not involved in this. These atrocities are going on under your rule. Police is under Manmohan Singh government in Delhi, not under (chief minister) Sheila Dikshit," Modi said.

"This is a black day in history. The nation will not forgive this," he said.

Police cracked down on Ramdev and his supporters in New Delhi's Ramlila ground after midnight Saturday and forcibly removed the yoga guru from the site. He was then evicted from the capital.
