Mangaluru, Jan 31: Srinivas University in association with Central Sanskrit University New Delhi, National mission for the manuscript of the government of India, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts New Delhi, Morarji Desai National Institute of YOGA, Ministry of Ayush organized a World Conference on Contribution of Indian Knowledge and Sanskrit to Humanity 'Vishwasanskritsammelanam' from January 24 to 26 at Srinivas University, Mukka Campus, Surathkal.
Srinivas University, Mangaluru, is a skill-focused University established in 2013 by Karnataka State Act. Srinivas University is the flagship of 18 Srinivas Group of Institutions started by the A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru. Proud Son of Adka Shama Rao, renowned chartered accountant, and visionary academician, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao started the first educational institution in the year 1988.
Srinivas University is an endeavour to develop a centre of excellence, imparting quality education, and generating competence and skill to meet the Scientific, Technological, and socio-economic challenges. Presently, Srinivas University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and research courses under 10 Faculties/Colleges with about 69 programmes. The University made innovations in designing and starting new super speciality programmes both in UG, and PG level as per present and future industry relevance, innovations in the examination system through focus on continuous evaluation and to make it full proof.
Srinivas University chancellor Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao has a dream to Promote Indic Culture, and his strong belief is to transform society through education. In that direction, he wants to spread the knowledge of Sanskrit through this conference all over the world. The world conference is one of its kind attempt to bring together Scholars and practitioners of Sanskrit, Indian Philosophy and culture under one umbrella. The event is expected to be by leaders of the Indian cultural movement along with honourable Ministers from the Central government and State Governments. To commemorate this significant event in Karnataka, the organizing committee plans to bring out an attractive souvenir on this occasion. Further to provide a foundation to the growth of Sanskrit and Indian culture we propose to construct a 'Sanskrit Research centre' a multi-storied building dedicated to the study of Vedas, General Philosophical approaches to the Status of Vedic scripture, a museum of Indian classical Vedic literature among others. The Centre will be a unique hub of activities on Indian thought and culture.
World Sanskrit Conference: Ancient India was prosperous not only in terms of gold, diamonds, architecture etc. but a distinctly differentiating factor from the rest of the world was the immense knowledge it held in its bosom. It was a storehouse of such deep and extensive knowledge that people from all over the world came to study in India. Bharat or India as it is known now, offered its knowledge to all the seekers without any discrimination.
