Suspected terrorist with links to Al Qaeda arrested in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 11 (IANS): A suspected terrorist with links to Al Qaeda has been arrested on Saturday from Thanisandra in Bengaluru in a joint operation by central probe agency and Internal Security Division (ISD).

The arrested, identified as Arif, was acting as per instructions of the terror outfit, according to police.

The police suspected that Arif has links with Al Qaeda since past two years and carried out operations from his residence.

The accused, who works in a software company in Bengaluru and had taken the work from home option, got in touch with the terror outfit through social media.

Sources said the accused was active on Telegram and darknet and spreading messages of the terror outfit.

The authorities stated that he was preparing to reach Syria through Iraq in March. He was also planning to reach Afghanistan if not able to go to Syria.

The authorities are grilling him at an undisclosed location.

Further investigation is on.

The high voltage battery of Congress and and Left lawyers would have proved that Al Qaida is a figment of imagination of BJP and RSS to persecute innocent 'peace loving' guys like Arif. Thank God the ecosystem and part of the mainstream media are are slowly discovering the truth which British Govt has also discovered in the recent Leicester riot that radicals peace lovers are fanning communal violence and terrorism worldwide.

It is a sad experience, I agree. It has been the same, but not publicized, even during my time in Bombay - I am talking about 70 years ago, after Independence, Then there was no id, adhar, are whatever, just your apearance. I don't know how an undercover policeman thought I belonged to the minority, perhaps because of the woolly cap I bought in Delhi and wore it in the train coming to Bombay. When I got down at Bombay Central station, the underground police chap spotted me on the platform and asked me to accompany him to the railway police station just outside the p;latform, which I did without questioning. And when I spoke to the inspector in Marathi, he realized I was the "wrong" guy!!! and apologied. Such mistakes do happen when terrorists are at large... Some may look innocent but you never know until checked... the majority come from only one source, and their names give them away.
