Kasargod: Absconding accused in bigamy case arrested after eight years

Kasargod, Feb 12: The Manjeshwar police arrested Abdul Hameed (50), a resident of Dharbe in Puttur, who was absconding for eight years in a case of bigamy where he got married for the second time without the knowledge of his first wife.

First wife of Abdul Hameed lived under the limits of Manjeshwar police station. Later, Abdul got married to another woman in 2014. First wife of Abdul had filed a complaint in this regard. Police had registered a case and were searching for Abdul.

Court had taken out a warrant on Abdul. Manjeshwar police got a tip-off that Abdul is in Puttur. The cops apprehended the absconding Abdul and produced him in the court.
