Mangaluru: Women’s throwball tournament by ICYM Valencia unit inaugurated

Mangaluru Feb 12: St Vincent Ferrer Church's Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Valencia organised an inter parish Mangalore Diocese level Women’s Throw ball Match which was inaugurated at Father Mullers Indoor Stadium on Sunday, February 12.

Speaking on the occasion, national level throw ball player Asha D'Souza the best to the players and urged them to play with true spirit.
Administrator of Father Mullers Medical College, Fr Ajith Menezes said, "I congratulate ICYM Valencia unit president Valerie Lobo for organising women’s throw ball event and it's not easy to organise a sports event, Valerie has initiated the event. I wish the best for the players."

Parish priest of Valencia church Fr Roque D'Sa and animator Ronald Rodrigues were also present.

ICYM Valencia unit President Valerie Lobo welcomed the gathering and Gloria Menezes compered the event.

The inter parish throw ball tournament is exclusively for women of Mangalore Diocese. As many as 19 teams are taking part in the tournament. The teams participating in the tournament will be presented with a memento, certificate and trophy. Winners will be awarded with Rs 22,222, trophy and certificates. Runners-up will get Rs 11,111, trophy and certificates. Attractive prizes will be given to individuals for their exceptional performance.
