Mudigere, Feb 13:The special court of people representatives has, on Monday, February 13, sentenced Mudigere BJP MLA M P Kumaraswamy to four years of imprisonment in a cheque bounce case.
M P Kumaraswamy had borrowed Rs 1.35 crores from Hoovappa Gowda. Eight cheques issued by MLA Kumaraswamy to Hoovappa Gowda had bounced.
Hoovappa Gowda had registered eight cases in the court in this connection. Judge J Preet who heard the cases has sentenced him to four years of imprisonment at the rate of six months per case if the amount is not repaid.
