Puttur: Car hits electric poles, turns turtle into field; GP member dies

Puttur, Feb 15: Muralidhar Bhat, a gram panchayat (GP) member of Nidpalli supported by the BJP died in a car accident on the Santhyaru-Bettampady Road at Balakka near Santhyaru.

The car in which the GP member was travelling hit two electric poles and fell 50 feet deep into an agricultural field. The car, which was moving towards Bettampady, turned turtle after hitting the electric poles.

Locals rushed the injured to the hospital.

The deceased Muralidhar Bhat was accompanied by Dileep Kumar Rao, Shashi Kumar and Navaneeth of Bettampady in the car on their journey to Bettampady.
