Ram Mandir in Canada defaced, Indian Consulate General demands prompt action

Toronto, Feb 15 (IANS): The Consulate General of India in Toronto has strongly condemned the incident in which a Hindu temple in Canada's Mississauga was defaced with anti-India graffiti, and has also called for prompt action.

"We strongly condemn the defacing of Ram Mandir in Missisauga with anti-India graffiti. We have requested Canadian authorities to investigate the incident and take prompt action on perpetrators," the consulate tweeted.

Brampton Mayor, Patrick Brown, called it a potential hate crime and said that this type of hate has no place in Peel Region.

"I am saddened to hear of the hate motivated vandalism at the Ram Mandir Temple in Mississauga. Unknown suspects spray painted the walls on the back of the temple. This type of hate has no place in Peel Region."

"The @PeelPolice& @ChiefNish are taking this potential hate crime very seriously. 12 Division has carriage of the investigation & they will find those responsible. Religious freedom is a Charter right in Canada & we will do everything we can to make sure everyone is safe in their place of worship", he tweeted.

Recently, a similar incident had occurred in the Gauri Shankar Mandir, in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), which was defaced with anti-India graffiti during the end of last month.*

Dear Bharath, Mangalore. why Nonsense ? It's obvious that Sikh community is protesting in foreign countries. Have you asked the reason ? During farmer protests couple of years back in Delhi. Sikhs were beaten and a BJP MP had mowed a jeep on to them, And majority of Hindus called them Khalistani. And it's sad that they are graffitiing on temple's wall, which I condemn. But they have not vandalized or abused anyone.

For you it's sensible and just only when churches in India are vandalised because you voted the present government to power on following 'Hindu khatre main hai' slogan. You don't see present 'Bharath Khatre mein hai' situation after sale spree by the same government. Didn't give a heed to check why same converting Christian demography remaining in same percentage. It hurts when temples are desecrated, right ? Enjoy the Tit-for-Tat, man, don't crib.

It is indeed sad that this kind of acts are happening in the 21st century. It deserves to be condemned with the strongest words. However, I feel we need to do a little introspection and treat minorities with dignity here in India. Without giving we cannot expect to receive in equal measure.

Ram Mandir in Canada defaced, Indian Consulate General demands prompt action!!!!! “Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?”. The reason for all these are, the first one is Media and the second one is uneducated BJP leaders.

First order IT raid on this temple whether it is doing its due diligence legally before defending and fighting for it. Also check how much money it has transferred illegally to BJP party in india.
