Mangaluru, Feb 18: “The BJP are the beneficiaries of Tipu Sultan, Taliban and Pakistan,” said MLA U T Khader.
Addressing the media here on Saturday February 18 over BJP state president and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel’s statement that the upcoming elections are all about Tipu Vs Savarkar, Khader said, “Tipu, Taliban and Pakistan are like oxygen for the BJP and they take political mileage from it. The BJP are the actual beneficiaries of Tipu, Taliban and Pakistan as they need those to survive.”
On chief minister Basavaraj Bommai budget, he said, “Bommai presented unacceptable and debt-laden budget. From 1947-2018, the government debt was Rs 2,42,000 crore, while the debt from 2018 to 2023 rose to Rs 5,64,814 crore which means in the last five years, the debt has increased by Rs 3 lac crore.
“The BJP government has taken Rs 2,84,000 crore loan in 2 years and also in this budget, they have declared to take loan for further development. When will this debt be repaid? Through this budget, they are trying to fool the people of coastal Karnataka. The promises made earlier for fishermen is not fulfilled till date. The public is being cheated by the BJP government by giving false hopes.
“There are 12 BJP MLAs from coastal Karnataka and not even a single special grant has been approved in the budget to our district. The union minister has declared to construct Abakka Theme Park but no funds have been allotted in this budget. Due to sea erosion, a lot of people have lost their houses and no announcement have been made for temporary or permanent solution for sea erosion in the budget,” said Khader.
When asked how the Congress will give free electricity and Rs 2000 to woman head of families here when the state is already in debt, Khader said, “The Congress have waived loans earlier. We did not even impose taxes. The BJP have waived the loans of the rich, imposed tax on the poor, they have reduced co-operative tax and increased taxes on the poor. We will maintain financial stability and we have guaranteed to give 200 units of free electricity and Rs 2000 per month to woman head of families. It is also sure that people will defeat the BJP.”
