Hubballi, Feb 19: Reacting sharply to the comment made by AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala claiming that ruling BJP has created hell in the State, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday asked the Congress leader to first end the infighting within his own party in the State before talking about Karnataka.

Speaking to media persons in Hubballi after offering special pooja at the Sri Siddarooda Mutt for Maha Shivaratri festival, he said the people have packed off the Congress because of the hell they had created in the State. "It is the most irresponsible party. They can pinpoint the failures instead of making wild allegations and criticism,’’ he said.

"The Congress party’s criticism and comments will have no impact on the people,’’ Bommai said in his retort to Surjewala’s comment that "BJP is a party of demons (asuraru) and Bommai is bhrastasura’’ and replied that the people of Karnataka who know who are the ‘’demons and gods (devates)."

Cong Grihalakshmi is BJP’s Grahinishakti copy
The chief minister said the Congress party in=charge for Karnataka has ‘’less memory’’ and mentioned that the people have shown who are the demons by throwing out a party which had ruled the country for 70 years."There is a big list of demons and corrupt persons in Congress,’’ he claimed.

Attacking Surjewala for his remark that BJP has shown its stupidity even while copying the Congress party programmes, Bommai said: ‘’There is a lot of difference between Congress and BJP. They have tried to fool the people through their promises. They have copied us. After we came out with the Grahini Shakti programme, they announced Grihalakshmi. Surjewala has forgotten that.’’

The chief minister said his government had constituted a committee headed by the chief secretary on the implementation of last year’s budget programmes and has already issued orders on 90% of the budget programmes. A similar committee will be constituted under the chief secretary for the implementation of the budget programmes this year too.

On the Congress party’s campaign against the government by wearing flowers on the ears on the day of the budget in the house and even outside to ridicule the non-implementation of the poll promises, Bommai said: "Congress leaders are welcome to wear the flowers on their ears permanently,’’ and pointed out that he has already replied to them in the assembly that Congressmen had so far put flowers on the ears of the people and now the people will do so permanently.

Nitish Kumar frequently changes colour

On JD (U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s statement that opposition parties can defeat BJP if they come together, Bommai said the entire country knows the number of times he has changed his colour. "What is the point in taking him seriously?’’ he asked.

The chief minister promised to ensure that the journalists of North Karnataka got representation in the Karnataka Media Academy while appointing members to set right the injustice to the scribes of north Karnataka.

He later participated in the 396th birth anniversary of Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj in his assembly constituency of Shiggaon in Haveri district.

The chief minister declared in Shiggaon that the Rama Mandir will be built at
Ramadevabetta in Ramanagara district, which was announced in the budget.
"I have no objection to those opposing the construction of Rama Mandir at
Ramaceverabetta. It is a historic place. If somebody wants to oppose, they are free do so. I am not bothered by it,’’ he said in response to JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy’s opposition.
