Puttur: Bolero tumbles on bike, rider succumbs to injuries

Puttur, Feb 21: A bike rider was killed as a Bolero overturned and fell on a two wheeler at Odla in Kemmara under the limits of Bajathur village on Monday February 20.

The deceased is identified as Koragappa Gowda (58), a resident of Kadembyalu in Koila village.

The incident occurred on Halegate-Mardhala state highway. The Bolero pick-up driven by Krishnappa Naika was coming from Kadaba. He drove the vehicle on the wrong side at Odla and applied brakes suddenly. As a result the Bolero overturned and fell on the bike on which Koragappa was riding.

Both bike and rider Koragappa were thrown onto the road. A seriously injured Koragappa was admitted to Puttur government hospital but he succumbed a little while later.

A case in this connection is registered in Puttur traffic police station.
