Mangaluru: Civic honour on businessman, philanthropist Dr Ronald Colaco: J R Lobo

Mangaluru, Feb 21: Civic honor will be bestowed on behalf of the citizens of Mangaluru to well-known NRI businessman and philanthropist Ronald Colaco. He was recently conferred with the Certificate of Excellence by the World Book of Records, London.

The felicitation ceremony will be held on Friday, February 24 at 10 am in Father Muller Convention Hall, Mangaluru, informed J R Lobo, president of Ronald Colaco Felicitation Committee.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, February 21, J R Lobo said, “Dr Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bengaluru, will preside over the civic honour. Padma Vibhushana Dr D Veerendra Heggde, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala and Rajya Sabha MP, will grace the event as chief guest.

Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore diocese, Swami Jitakamanandaji Maharaj, president of Ramakrishna Math, Mangaluru, Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, chancellor, Yenepoya University, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop, Udupi Diocese, Hemachandra Kumar, bishop, CSI Southern Karnataka Diocese, Dr Lawrence Mukkuzhy, bishop, Beltangady Diocese, Dr Francis Serrao, bishop, Shimoga Diocese, Dr Henry D’Souza, bishop, Bellary Diocese, U T Khader, MLA and deputy leader of the opposition, Karnataka Assembly, Dr Vinay Hegde, president, NITTE Education Trust, Dr Mohan Alva, president, Alva's Education Foundation, Dr Shantharam Shetty, chairman, Tejaswini Hospital, Rajayogi B K Vishveshwari, Brahma Kumari Center, Mangaluru, Maladi Ajith Kumar Rai, president, Bantara Yane Nadavara Mathr Sangha, and Rajashekar Kotian, president, Rashtriya Billawara Maha Mandala will grace the grand event as guests.

The public and fans of Dr Colaco under the chairmanship of former MLA, Mangalore South J R Lobo, are making every effort to make the event a memorable one. Along with the public, well-known businessmen, members of religious fraternity from different communities of Mangaluru and well-known people from different walks of life, will be part of this felicitation ceremony.

J R Lobo said, ”Dr Ronald Colaco selflessly served for more than 25 years. He has contributed for the development in health sector, education sector, churches, temples, masjid, police department, judiciary department, panchayat raj, house construction, sports, art, culture and other sectors as well.

Dr Colaco was awarded the Certificate of Excellence UID 00318 on September 28, 2022 in the House of Commons of the British Parliament, London, during the Indo-UK Leadership Summit.

NRI businessman Dr Ronald Colaco is a man who dons many hats with equal ease. Despite tasting success in business at a young age, he continued his close association with his motherland through his philanthropic activities.

It is a matter of great pride for all Kannadigas that their own Ronald Colaco has excelled in business, philanthropy and humanitarian activities over three decades.
