Mangaluru: Did BJP come to power to do business or serve people, asks B K Hariprasad

Mangaluru, Mar 2: Congress leader B K Hariprasad said, "BJP MLA Basavaraj Yatnal alleged that he was asked to pay Rs 2.5 crore to become Chief Minister. Did BJP come to power to do business or to serve people?"

He was speaking at Karavali Prajadwani Yathra at Gurupura on Thursday, March 2.

He also said, "BJP national president Nadda, home minister Amit Shah, prime minister Modi will visit the state. We do not require their guidance to the state. Our law is very strong, but the bulldozer culture has arrived. We don’t need Gujarat model, instead we need good education and health."

"Just because Inayath Ali funded Congress, there was an ED raid. Nalin asks to discuss only about Love Jihad and he has been sent to Lok Sabha. It is not a big deal for BJP to buy voters when they can buy an MLA by giving crores of money. After Praveen Nettaru, when Fazil was murdered, Sharan Pumpwell openly claimed about the murder but no action has been taken against him," said B K Hariprasad.

"Basavaraj Bommai is shameless. Are they the ones who took the oath of the constitution? He could not visit the house of Fazil and the ones who were murdered in Sullia. He is not the chief minister for BJP and RSS. When he can't protect the lives of people and property, he does not deserve to be in power," he added.

He further said, "After looking at the manifesto of Congress, BJP has announced Narayana Guru Corporation but no funds have been allotted for the same."

"There will be no damage for Congress if SDPI contests for elections as every party is free to contest elections," he stated.

Speaking about allegations on Congress gathering people and luring money to the public, B K Hariprasad said, "When Siddrammaih arrives, lacs of people gather and receive a warm welcome. There is no need for luring money to the public to gather. BJP is in fear after looking at the crowd at recently concluded Congress events. When people died due to a lack of oxygen at Chamrajnagar, where were Nadda, Modi, and Amit Shah? They are conducting political tourism."

MLA U T Khader, former MLA Mohiudeen Bawa, Congress leaders Inayath Ali, Ivan D'Souza, Shashidhar Hegde, Harish Kumar, and others were present.
