Mangaluru, Mar 2: Two traditional boats and fishing nets anchored in Someshwara seashore were gutted in a fire, resulting in a loss of lacs of rupees.

According to reports, the role of miscreants is suspected in the incident. The fire engulfed the traditional boats belonging to fishermen Anil and Shekar of Someshwara on Thursday, march 2 afternoon.

The boats were anchored in the seashore of Baasithayara Bail in Someshwara. The fire also spread towards nearby bushes, but locals were able to douse it.

It is suspected that the tragedy might have occurred due to tourists littering used cigarette buds, or some miscreants might have torched the boats.
