Udupi, Mar 3: “You decide the time and place, and we will bring Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar and you kill them” challenged AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala in Udupi during his meet with Congress leaders and party workers here in Udupi district Congress Bhavan on Friday, March 3.
Reacting to minister Ashwath Narayan’s statement on Congress leader Siddaramaiah, Surjewala said “You decide the place and time and we will bring Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar and you can kill them no problem. We will also see how many bullets you have. How many Congressmen will you kill? After Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar you might need to kill Dhruvanarayana, Rosy John, Madhu Bangarappa, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Randeep and Prasad also. Your bullets will fall short but not our chests. This is a challenge to Basavaraj Bommai.
They want to kill Congress leaders because they don’t want to see the Congress speaking in favour of betterment of the unemployed, the poor, the dalits, Mogaveeras, Bunts, Billavas and backward classes. BJP gets irritated when Congress speaks about raising the diesel subsidy for fishing boats from Rs 10 to Rs 50. They don’t want us to help the fishermen community. You kill and another leader will emerge from within the party.
Our promised guarantees will be implemented for sure. Modiji raised the prices of gas cylinders, Congress has announced ‘Grihalaxmi’ yojana which will given within Within two months of coming to power from May 1 to every woman head of the family. There is no distinction between APL-BPL, Hindu-Muslim, elite and backward, everyone will get this benefit. 10kg rice will be provided free under Annabhagya yojana. Every leader must go to the field with party workers and knock on every door, explain our promises, fill up their details in the card and file it with the district congress committee” he said.
Lashing at the state government Surjewala said “Today, Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai is welcomed with banners stating 40% government. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has been branded as ‘Pay CM’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Karnataka 8 times after the contractor association president made allegations about the 40% commission, but he didn’t answer Kempannna’s allegations. Modiji used to say ‘Na Kahvunga Na khane dunga’, but BJP’s slogan has now changed to ‘Khao Khilao aur Karnataka ko lute jao’.
We hoped Modiji would visit Santhosh Patil’s house in Belagavi, but he didn't. He has time to do road shows, to speak ill against Mallikarjun Kharge, but he had no time to visit the house of a deceased BJP party worker. If a party behaves in this way with their own party workers, just imagine how they would treat Karnataka. I request Modiji to visit the house of T N Prasad, a contactor based in Bengaluru who shot himself due to the commission issue. Modiji will learn by visiting these families how Bhrastasur government looted Karnataka.
I beg with Narendra Modi, Basavraj Bommai, J P Nadda and Nalin Kumar Kateel to please tell how much money do they need to fill their tummies. We will contribute, but if you have guts please return to us so that we can give it to T N Prasad, Santhosh Patil, and Rajendra's families.”
Congress guarantee cards were also released on the occasion.
Speaking with media on the recently exposed corruption of Channagiri BJP MLA Virupakshappa and his son, Randeep Singh Surjewala said “A thorough enquiry should be conducted under present chief justice of Karnataka and Chief minister Basavraj Bommai should resign on moral grounds. Industries minister Nirani should also be sacked from the cabinet. BJP should also reveal who were the others who took share from this corrupt money."
