Apple phones to be built in Karnataka soon, to create 1 lac jobs, says CM Bommai

Bengaluru, Mar 3 (IANS): Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said that Apple phones will be built in the state soon creating jobs for 1 lac people.

"Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, we will do our share to make India a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2025," he stated.

CM Bommai also tagged a post from Rajeev Chandrashekar, the Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology.

Quoting a media report, Rajiv Chandrashekar said, "Apple phones to be built in India in a new 300 acre factory in Karnataka. Double engine Sarkar of PM Narendra Modi Ji and CM Basavaraj Bommai working to create investments and jobs and a 1 trillion dollar economy for Karnataka."

Media reports stated that the Apple Inc. partner Foxconn Technology Group plans to invest about 700 million dollars on a new plant in India to ramp up local production. The manufacturing facility will be shifted from China to here.

The Taiwanese company, known for its flagship unit Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., plans to set up a plant to make iPhone spare parts on a 300 acre site located close to Bengaluru International Airport. It is also being considered to set up an assembly unit of handsets, sources said.

All the politicians have real estate business in Bangalore. This is the reason why they are concentrated around Bangalore. Why cant you create this employment opportunity in other part of Karnataka

(Under visionary leadership -- again undue praise heaped -- Supine Karnataka leadership---- always kow towing -- every sentence ends with -- under -- so and so -- Modi leadership etc. etc. --)-- Fact of the matter is for many companies - -Involved in global supply chains -- MULTINATIONALS --after COVID -- strict lock downs by China -- they are cutting risk exposure. --on - supply chain-- And total dependence on CHINA -- apart from ongoing Trade wars -- USA __ CHINA -- Chip mfr etc. etc. -- BUT --, we in India cannot assume. all shift from China will happen by default to India-- Vietnam -- Bangladesh -- Mexico -- many countries are also getting. offshore business -- So, corruption in INDIA -- lazy laid-back approach -- poor road infrastructure -- skilled labour -- education -- are some of the impediments. to get Lions share -- employment and employability are some of the major concerns -- We also need labor intensive jobs rather than automation -- to feed / employ our vast population. --

Apple phones .. most of it automated. Assembly lines .... it will take 10 years to reach .. one lakh ... optimum .. If we want to replace China for Apple products .. very many issues ..... yet we have a golden opportunity to do labour intensive which can provide jobs .. not automated assembly..
