Hassan: Bride-to-be in ICU after makeup, beautician detained for questioning

Hassan, March 3 (IANS): A beautician in Karnataka's Hassan was detained for questioning after a young woman who got her makeup done for her wedding was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after her face got disfigured, police said on Friday.

The incident, which had taken place in Arsikere town of Hassan, came to light on Friday. According to police, the victim is a resident of Jajur village.

The victim, whose marriage was fixed, got her makeup done in the Gangashri Harbal Beauty Parlour and Spa of the town 10 days ago. However, after the makeup, the victim's face turned swollen, ugly, and disfigured.

Beautician Ganga told the victim that she has got a new kind of makeup and applied it on her face. After the makeup, the victim suffered from an allergic reaction. Following the development, her marriage has been postponed.

Arasikere City police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

    Even doctors are supposed to do a patch test before using certain compounds which are very prone to produce a spontaneous allergic reaction but who's bothered; after all, they get your signature on the consent form making them immune to any criminal or legal action! BTW, I have heard of a couple of people dying due to an anaphylactic reaction to the dye injected before an angiogram!!

    K,b.r,mangalauru ,different people react different reaction so one cant say why this one or other so.Depends on what mixture she usedHope the bride recovers fast.and come back safe.when so reaction is there immediately wipe off all and wash away with soap.Many times hair dye too gives reaction .Thatswhy one should be careful .Beutician should have used this neu creme before the time of wedding .She should have asked her if she has any allergy before the day.

    It's a case of "anaphylactic reaction" to some chemical agent in the makeup kit; it can be fatal if not treated in time!!
