Mysuru, Mar 11: It is reported that executive president of KPCC and in-charge of KPCC Udupi district R Dhruvanarayana passed away in the city due to cardiac arrest. He was 61.
Dhruvanarayana joined Congress as a common party worker in 1983 and progressed as a leader as the time went by. He won from Santhemarahalli legislative constituency in 2004 and Kollegal legislative constituency in 2008.
Dhruvanarayana got defeated in 1999 in the Santhemarahalli legislative constituency against A R Krishnamurthy of Janata Dal (S). But Dhruvanarayana defeated Krishnamurthy by just one vote in the 2004 legislative constituency election.
Dhruvanarayana defeated Krishnamurthy in the 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections and became MP. He has post-graduate degree from agricultural university of Bengaluru and was a farmer by profession before entering politics.
