Mangaluru, Mar 14: In a major relief, the relators may no longer have to run from pillar to post of multiple departments to acquire No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from various agencies, as the administration has fixed the deadline for issuing the certificate. The initiative would be part of ensuing a single-window clearance of certificates.

Addressing a press meet, the president of Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI) Mangaluru, Pushparaj Jain said that the deputy commissioner (DC) had issued the notification to Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), urban local bodies, and gram panchayat in the district that the departments concerned should issue NOCs within the time frame.

He said, "The authorities concerned should issue the NOCs for the construction of the building within 30 days of filing the application. The occupancy certificate issuing and inspection should be completed by 7 days. The order of the DC will benefit realtors and the general public. If there is no response from the department and agencies concerned within a specific period, the application would be considered deemed-to-be approved.

“The DC had held a meeting with the senior officials of MCC, MUDA, Fire and Emergency Services and Pollution Control Board, CRZ, Archaeology department, CREDAI, Civil Engineers’ Association, and Canara Builders Association. The builders had to get No Objection Certificates and spot inspections done by seven different departments. For this, the builders had run to post to pillar. Sometimes, the builders had to wait for too long.

“The DC has directed the concerned departments to dispose the applications within the given time frame,” he said.

Secretary Prashanth Sanil, treasurer Gurumurthy, and Vinod Pinto were present.
