Telangana : Stones and footwear Hurled at Andhra Minister

Hyderabad, Jun 22:  Handlooms and Textiles Minister of the  South Indian State of  Andhra Pradesh,  Shankar Rao had to bear the brunt of stone and  footwear hurling while on a visit to  Warangal district .

He had gone there to  pay his  last respects to the departed soul of Telangana ideologue K. Jayashankar, who died on June 21, Tuesday.

Telangana activists , reportedly  demanding the resignation of  the minister, had attacked his car. It is learnt that, glasses of car were damaged during the attack.

Police officials immediately rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

For the second consecutive day, Telangana activists, who are mourning  the death of K. Jayashankar, shouted slogans against the state government. They even roughed up members of parliament S. Rajaiah and G. Vivek who had also arrived there to pay their last respects to the departed soul.

Angry mourners have vowed not to allow leaders of the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)  to pay their respects to the late leader or attend his funeral which is  scheduled later in the day.

    It is mere foolish act and animalised culture is prevailing in every situation and linking everything to telengana issue.we will not get telengana by fighting and other foolish acts
